The federal government also implemented an RRSP Home Buyers’ Plan that allows Canadians to withdraw from their registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) to buy or build a qualifying home with a limit of up to $60,000 in an interest and tax-free way. Furthermore, the plan allows individuals to pay back the amounts withdrawn within a 15-year period, starting from a 5-year grace period after you take out the money to purchase your first home.
